Wow first time I’ve heard of an idea like this. Definitely very interesting and it might help move more properties. I know a lot of people that are first time home buyers can be very hesitant in buying a home because they worry about buying one that has hidden problems or end up hating the neighborhood. They think of it as locking them down with the proverbial ball and chain. This idea would eliminate a lot of these problems and give them a “test run” of the house.

An interesting idea – I like it. Try the house out before you buy, with no true obligation to buy. I think this is probably a good idea for those people who truly aren’t ready to buy as well because they haven’t saved up enough of a down payment, or because they’ve still got debt to pay off. Rent while you save for the future, and then buy only when you’re ready.

I was just reading about something the other day where now some home building companies are allowing people to live in extremely expensive homes for very reasonable rent. One couple in the story was living in a 3 million dollar home for next to nothing. The builder figures they may as well have someone living in the house while they try to sell, keeping it up and keeping it clean. (of course in this scenario you would have to make sure the house stayed clean all the time, and maybe have to move at the drop of a hat, which could be a pain.)
